I saw them in the paint chips
they were growling and gnashing their teeth
they were walking on my carpet and flashing their eyes
I know what they want and I know exactly where it lies

They're monsters for monsters sake
they're monsters that know their fate
huge noses and rectangle eyes
I know it's me that they despise

I see them in the morning
and I see them when I leave
it's just silly game though people
so do not be deceived

Sometimes they're effective
and sometimes they are not
ah the trick here though is to not get caught

I've left the state
and it's been several years
still there are some lingering fears

Ah but that is all behind me
and spring is almost here
